Spring of 2020 I hand selected my student design team for a 3 credit course—including five design seniors, one junior photography major, and one graphic design graduate student. We ambitiously began the collaboration by designing a new identity for ArtMouth magazine, created a mission statement and brainstormed the content and design system that we would utilize in both the print and the web version. Following a submission blast in multiple venues, we carefully reviewed each submission as a group, made our selections, then started interviewing those whose work was selected. We took headshots of each person; transcribed and edited each interview. Designing a system for the layout of the print and the website began, followed by lots and lots of refinements. Then the unthinkable happened, the COVID-19 pandemic forced out University to move to Online teaching. We continued through Zoom meetings. This ArtMouth 2020 edition does include 10 Art and Design Options, including profiles of 49 seniors, underclassmen, graduate students and alumni.
